

GCSE Spanish
- Develop an understanding of the spoken and written forms of Spanish in a range of contexts
- Learn to communicate effectively in Spanish through both the spoken and written word, using a range of vocabulary and structures
- Study Spanish grammar and learn how to apply it
- Learn about Spain and Spanish-speaking countries
- Develop a positive attitude to modern foreign language learning and build a suitable foundation for further study and/or practical use of Spanish.
The course suits those who want to progress to AS/A2 Spanish at the end of the course and who enjoy learning languages and have learnt another language successfully. This is a one year course and assessment is predominantly exam based.
You will learn how to give Personal Information, how to talk about Home Life, how to describe your Home Town and Region, and how to talk about your Education.
In this term you will learn how to talk about what you do in your Free Time and Holidays and how to discuss Travel. You will do the writing coursework in this term.
In the final term you will learn how to talk about the Environment. You will also learn how to talk about Youth culture. You will do a lot of Revision and past exam papers in preparation for the listening reading and oral exams.
You can proceed to further studies in Spanish. It is also useful in employment, for example in the travel and tourism industry.
