New College is a successful and popular sixth form college located in the market town of Wellington, which is part of Telford – a regional growth point. There is easy access to the Shropshire countryside, housing is plentiful in supply and access to national road/rail networks is very good. Telford, Shropshire is located within easy reach of the major local cities and towns including Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Shrewsbury via the motorway and rail networks.
 
The college's mission is:
"To provide equality of access to the best possible educational opportunities for those aged over 16 whether they are from Telford of further afield",
 
In November 2009, the college formally designated as a Sixth Form College under the ASCL Act and is now part of the new sub sector. In common with all providers, it is experiencing a period of unprecedented change. Our priority during this period is to retain a clear focus upon students in order to meet their individual learning needs and to maximise their achievements.
